Very much looking forward to this Wednesday, when we'll host the second Open Tech Will Save Us event! @Gargron - creator of Mastodon! - will join us for a Q&A about scaling Mastodon.social, while @mhoye from Mozilla will present about "Verbs in the fediverse". Plus, more to be announced! matrix.org/open-tech-meetup/

Does anyone know any Matrix rooms where cool dorks hang out? I need to socialize.

mh, covid

Trying to be kinder despite being cranky. I keep feeling like I'm smarter than everyone else, which is generally unhealthy for my relationships.

Tonight I walked the dogs, and a family was sitting out at a fire, listening to music. And the music kept stuttering in a strange, yet familiar way.

It took me a while to realize they were listening to a CD, and that it was skipping, and *wow* it made me realize how different my life is now from ten years ago.

Man, remember when Lupe Fiasco dropped a link to his blogspot on an album track? Wild.

Mh-

We have made a very carefully calculated trip back to the house in PA. I've been here less than 12 hours but it is immediately apparent how bad our living situation in NY has been for my mental health, particularly since quarantine.

As much as I've tried to fight it, it's probably good that I'm sticking with counseling for the near future.

Imagine if Dr. Steve Brule was just super mean spirited and cruel, and then he got elected president.

Learning websockets in Python. Pretty neat stuff.

The NFL draft is all remote tonight, obviously, and like the last Democratic debate, it is 200% more watchable.

So many things that I want to do that I haven't been making time for, which is hard for me to process.
Like I can visualize discrete, simple steps to do a project. All I have to do is start. But I seem to be having trouble doing that.
I don't think this is exclusive to quarantine, but I don't think being quarantined is helping.

The best thing that could happen for us as a nation is for all of these people to catch COVID and to get very, very ill.

These people are so stupid that it's amazing they don't forget to breathe.

Life+, general world -

I feel it's important to detail the picnic spread...
- Home made bruschetta with toasted French bread slices.
- Spring mix salad with pecans, dried cranberries, goat cheese, and a vinagrette dressing.
- Fresh strawberries.
- Extra goat cheese and a Brie wheel, served with Rosemary infused crackers.
- Some weird pastry I found that looked fancy but was not super impressive.
- Dark chocolate bars.
- A Sonoma county Chardonnay.
- Also about a half a bottle of Malbec.
